dhl and the Council of Fashion Designers of America have selected Black Boy Knits as the recipient of the 2022 dhl Logistics Fashion Awards.
Black Boy Knits will receive a $15,000 grant to promote its international business and mentoring opportunities at both organizations.
Black Boy Knits is an independent design studio founded by Jacques Agbobly during the height of the pandemic in 2020. Their goal is to highlight black, queer and immigrant narratives and their cultural contributions through a global perspective. The studio focuses on creating unique pieces on a bespoke basis. Black Boy Knits is also a finalist for the 2022 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.
“As an indigenous queer immigrant African, equity, diversity and empowerment are at the forefront of my creation,” said Agbobly, who was born in Togo and received a BFA from Parsons School of Design. "This recognition not only allows me to expand my business, but also fulfills my mission to celebrate our culture and identity globally through our unique bespoke fashion designs," Agbobly said.
The dhl Logistics in Fashion Award is part of a larger partnership with the CFDA to help fashion companies seize the opportunity to expand globally. In March last year, dhl Express US said it had returned as the exclusive official logistics partner of the CFDA, a partnership designed to help fashion companies seize global growth opportunities.

As part of the partnership, CFDA members and temporary members receive exclusive shipping rates and dhl office hours, where they can work directly with dhl transportation and logistics professionals and receive expert guidance on their global supply chain.
